The Requirements Life Cycle

Questions addressed by a Requirements Life Cycle Framework:
-
Where are we in the transformation process?
-
Do we agree on what we need before we figure out how to fix it?
-
Are we developing the right solution for the problem / opportunity we need to address?
-
How do we communicate progress to our stakeholders?
What is a Requirements Lifecycle?
Business transformations come in many shapes and sizes. Each transformation effort may require one or many projects to move an organization from point A to point B.

Most business transformations require at least some change to supporting business technologies typically using an incremental or agile approach to guide each system change.

Regardless of the type of change you make; all transformations have one thing in common - requirements. And requirements have a lifecycle. They are created, linked, updated, satisfied and (hopefully) stored for future use.

Because businesses are constantly transforming - often with more than one transformation occurring at the same time, a framework becomes a critical tool to manage the requirements lifecycle effectively.
